President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama is expected back today from Nairobi, Kenya where he attended the inauguration of the president of Kenya, Mr Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Khama travelled to Kenya on Tuesday (November 28) for Mr Kenyatta’s swearing in, for the second term as president, with his deputy Mr William Ruto.

President Kenyatta was declared the winner of repeat presidential elections with nearly 7.5 million votes following Kenya’s Supreme Court decision of November 20,  to uphold the results of the repeat elections held on October 26.

The repeat presidential elections were held following boycott of results by National Super Alliance leader, Mr Raila Odinga who was President Kenyatta’s main challenger.

Mr Odinga served as the second prime minister of Kenya from 2008 to 2013 and Leader of Opposition since 2013. BOPA
