Appreciate your child

Member of Parliament for Kanye South, Mr Abram Kesupile says just like parents, children must to be acknowledged, inspired and appreciated for their good work.
Mr Kesupile, who is Kanye South Member of Parliament said this when addressing parents and teachers at a graduation ceremony at Life Lane Academy recently in Lotlhakane East.
Children who did not attend pre-school, he said, were left behind in learning compared to those with prior learning at nursery school.
Furthermore, Kesupile urged parents to train up children in the way they should go so that they will not depart from it when they were old.
He however expressed displeasure at the tendency by some parents who gave their children weird names; something he stated had the potential to influence the destinies of such children negatively.
“Give your children names that will make them feel proud and accepted in the society and not names influenced by own personal predicaments in life,” he said.
He also reminded parents that it was their responsibility to provide shelter, clothes and food to their children at all times.
A community development officer at Gatwane, Ms Kebonye Matlhaba gave a testimony about her daughter, a former learner at Life Lane Academy but currently doing standard One in Gatwane.
Ms Matlhaba said her daughter came to Life Lane Academy without any prior learning, but when she graduated she was confident enough, more experienced and ready to start her Standard One.
She added that the child won Best Student award in Standard One and Best Student in English.
She encouraged parents to enrol their kids at Life Lane Academy or any other pre-school and get them ready for Standard One.
Graduates were awarded with certificates and stationery. ENDS
