Permanent Secretary to the President, Mr Carter Morupisi has commended Glazing Botswana Group of Companies and Mmabolao Furniture Shop PTY (LTD) for donating to Moroka Primary School hostels project and People Living With Disability (PLWD) at Beetsha.

Glazing Botswana donated 25 boxes of floor tiles and 10 toilet pens for the hostels, whilst Mmabolao donated four double beds and nine foam mattresses to Beetsha Primary School.

In his keynote address at a handing over ceremony of donations for Moroka Primary School hostels project Tuesday, Mr Morupisi who is the school patron thanked the two companies for the noble gesture they displayed, saying it was appreciated and would not go unnoticed.

On behalf of President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama, he acknowledged Mmabolao for donating beds and mattresses following his plead to them to donate the beds.

He encouraged other companies to emulate Glazing Botswana and Mmabolao Furniture Shop by extending a helping hand to the less privileged, saying the plan was to ensure the hostels project was completed and handed over to Moroka Primary School before end of the year.

In his welcome remarks and stating objectives of the project, coordinator of PLWD in Office of the President and Moroka Primary School project coordinator, Mr Thomas Motingwa also expressed gratitude to the two companies for their donation.

Mr Motingwa applauded both Glazing Botswana and Mmabolao Furniture Shop, saying the kindness and support they rendered complemented government’s efforts in improving the lives of every Motswana.

Glazing Botswana manager, Ms Lesedi Mesotlo said in furthering government’s mandate and call for companies to partner in Public Private Partnership, her company found it fit to donate towards completion of Moroka Primary School project to contribute towards uplifting communities.

“Everyone has to be safe and secure, so that we continue to grow the economy. Students who will be residing in the hostels that will be built, will surely enjoy being schooled in a safe and secure school environment. As Glazing Botswana Group of Companies, it is our plea to the community of Botswana to take advantage of such noble initiatives and participate in any way possible,” she added.

Ms Mesotlo also applauded Mr Morupisi in adopting Moroka Primary School and encouraged Batswana to support him in achieving his objective and promise to Moroka Primary School.

For her part, Mmabolao Furniture Shop PTY (LTD) manager, Ms Irene Phillips said her company was gratified by the pleasant relationship it shared with Office of the President.

The donation, she said, followed an invitation from Office of the President to donate beds to PLWD in Beetsha, adding that her company was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to all who were less privileged.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Ms Kebonye Moepeng, in her vote of thanks, said government recognised PLWD and the less privileged and it was its aspiration to ensure PLWD enjoyed the same lifestyle enjoyed by every Motswana.

For that reason, Ms Moepeng said OP was thrilled by the noble gesture as it showed they cared about PLWD.

Ms Moepeng handed over appreciation letters from Mr Morupisi to both Glazing Botswana and Mmabolao Furniture Shop managers. ENDS
