WUC donates to centre

22 Nov 2017

Mochudi Resource Centre for the Blind (MRCB) as Water Utilities Cooperation (WUC) in Kgatleng donated a washing machine, laundry materials and a refurbished laundry room recently.

WUC acting general manager Ms Yvonne Mothupi said during the handing over ceremony that blindness was a condition like any other and did not limit anyone to do anything.

She said the renovating the laundry room, tilling both wall and floor, washing powder, pegs and a Christmas gift amounted to P13 100.

Furthermore Ms Mothupi said it was not easy to uphold the pillars of 2036 and 2016 but glad to have fulfilled the compassionate, just and caring nation pillar of 2016 and human and social development pillar of 2036.

She said technology had improved the livelihoods of the nation by simplifying their day to day chores; hence donating a washing machine to help at the centre.

“From years ago laundry has never been an easy task,” she said.

Ms Mothupi urged workers to take care of the washing machine.

The acting director for MRCB, Ms Tebatso Menyatso thanked WUC for making them feel at home in their own home as they took over the day to day activities at the centre and showed that kindness leads to greater things.

She encouraged all to be kind to one another as there were too many challenges faced by individuals that could only be addressed by kindness.

Ms Menyatso pleaded with Batswana to help the centre in anyway as it was a home for the children and staff as they sleep, eat and do all their core curricular activities there.

She said the centre aimed at teaching the students to be independent just like any other individual, who could had sight  because being blind did not stop them from doing normal activities.

Ms Menyatso thanked Water Utilities employees for the love they gave them and encouraged them to love one another even outside their workplace.

When giving vote of thanks, area councilor Molefe Mosothwane thanked the people who started the school as well as Water Utilities employees for the gesture and encouraged them to continue lending a helping hand to those in need.

He urged the staff to take care of the machine so that other companies could also come forward and assist them in other fields. ENDS
