Forest Conservation Botswana (FCB) invites legally registered Non-Governmental Organisations, community based organisations (Trusts, VDCs, cooperatives), individuals, private entities and researchers (scholarships) active in environmental, forests conservation, forest resource management and any other related fields to submit their 2018 concepts for funding.
A press release from FCB says nine projects from Kgalagadi (North and South), Ghanzi and Chobe will be funded. It further says concepts from Community Based Organisations and NGOs in Kgalagadi should be based on management of alien invasive species, sand dune stabilisation by planting indigenous tree and grass as well as wild land fire management, whilst the thematic area for concepts from Ghanzi and Chobe Districts is wild land fire management.
It further states that for individuals and private entities categories, concepts should be based on management of alien invasive species, sand dune stabilisation by planting indigenous trees and grass, wild land fire management as well as forest resource management. The category also covers Kgalagadi and Ghanzi districts. Concepts for research scholarships should be based on natural resources management, forestry and or any other related field, noting that the category is national and it covers all districts.
