Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has exposed a fake Facebook message purporting to be that of the personal or official account of the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Kenneth Ontefetse Matambo.
A press release from the ministry says the message in question, alleges that the World Bank is giving out loans of up to US$10 000 to entrepreneurs in Africa through the government of a country in which one is a citizen.
The message further invites members of the public to apply for the loans through a private email account, claiming to be that of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.
It further informs members of the public that any pages purporting to be the personal or official account of or bearing photos or personal information of Mr Kenneth Matambo are fake and unauthorised.
“The public is therefore advised to disregard any friend requests or communication from such pages and especially refrain from sharing any personal information with the said accounts in question. All communication from the minister’s office is shared through government communication channels,” says the release. BOPA
