Department of Energy to host interstate oil committee

Department of Energy will host the interstate Oil Committee (IOC) meeting in Kasane from November 15-16.
A press release from the Ministry of Mineral Resources Green Technology and Energy Security states that the IOC was jointly established by five states being Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa and Swaziland.
It also states that the establishment of the committee was established out of the member states’ desire to maintain free interchange of goods between their territories as well as ensuring continued economic development of the Customs Union area as a whole.
The release further says that the IOC meeting has become a platform for maintaining regular and close liaison among members regarding all aspects of the acquisition, storage, supply and distribution and related issues of petroleum products to the Customs Union area. ENDS
