Paper 4 Africa donates books to Tonota primary schools

Tonota Member of Parliament, Mr Thapelo Olopeng has commended Paper 4 Africa for donating 36 000 exercise books to 6 000 primary school pupils in the Tonota Sub-district.
Speaking at the handing over of the books on November 3, Mr Olopeng commended the company for the good gesture, adding that government needed the partnership of the private sector in ensuring an educated nation.
He implored parents to play an active role in ensuring that quality education was delivered to their children.
For his part, Mr Joseph Puvinamasigue of Paper 4 Africa said since 2014 he and his wife decided to play a role in the education system.
He said education was a fundamental right of every child hence the need for all stakeholders to play a role.
Mr Puvinamasigue said the company has since 2014 donated over 350 000 exercise books to close to 60 000 pupils in the country.
He pledged that next year he would donate exercise books to the schools, give a prize money of P5 000 and a floating trophy to a school that would top others with ABC pass rate in the 2018 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) results.
At the same event, Mr Olopeng donated snack packages to pupils of all the schools.
He said the snacks were for Christmas from the Olopeng Foundation. ENDS
