Chairman encourages social responsibility

26 Oct 2017

Kweneng Land Board chairperson, Mr Moemedi Babitseng has encouraged land board members to live and embrace the spirit of togetherness and promote social responsibility.

Addressing the main land board meeting in Molepolole recently, he said members apart from their day to day work must unite and rally behind the calls for compassion and caring for the less fortunate members of the society.

“Recently in Lephepe, we donated a wheelchair to a young man who has been struggling to get around.

The wheelchair helped him a lot with his mobility and restored his dignity.

Projects like these should be done with coordinated effort because they change lives for the better” stated Mr Babitseng.

He urged the board members to continue promoting team spirit as colleagues and with clients they serve on daily basis if they were to leave an impacting customer care service, by timely attending to enquiries or customers’ complaints.

“Most of the clients do not follow proper channels when they have complaints about land board, it is up to us to assist them direct them properly to relevant offices so that their issues may be addressed within a short period of time,” he said.

Responding to the comments of the board members who complained about waiting lists, the land board secretary, Ms Tlotlego Rampha revealed that they were doing all they could to make sure that plots were surveyed and allocated speedily.

She revealed that in some cases, the council and the physical planner lagged behind in providing lay out designs, thereby creating a back log.

She however vowed to engage all relevant stakeholders and make sure that plots were allocated.

“We have challenges of people who do not develop plots they have been allocated.

These are some of the people that create problems for us and it consumes our time as we are forced to follow up and meet them on how to assist them out of their situations,” she said.

Ms Rampha asked the board members to assist with ideas that would help the board on how to overcome problems they were facing such as long waiting lists. ENDS
