Senior Private Secretary to the President, Brig. George Tlhalerwa has appreciated donations from companies for their positive impact in the lives of the less privileged members of the society.

Different companies on October 20 handed over donations to the Presidential Charitable Trust in Gaborone.

When receiving donations on behalf of President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama, Brig. Tlhalerwa commended companies and individuals for their goodwill towards the Presidential Charitable Trust.

He said the Office of President highly recognised efforts from companies who heeded the call to help those in need.

Brig. Tlhalerwa thanked Spar marketing executive, Mr Bobby Rushforth for recently donating 67 cartons of water towards the global march for elephants, rhinos and lions that raised awareness about the extinction of endangered species.

He also said the porta cabin received from Ndala and Tshambani Investments would play a crucial role in pushing the traditional agenda of the Kgotla system.

The P68 000 worth porta cabin handed over by Mr Khumalo Tshambani was presented to the trust to be used at Hukuntsi Kgotla.

Mr Tshambani said his company was responding to the plea of the Hukuntsi community who had asked for assistance from the Office of President.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) resident representative, Ms Jacinta Barrins who donated 15 compatible energy efficient stoves said UNDP also felt the need to contribute to the trust fund.

She said the stoves would benefit women in rural areas. ENDS
