Francistown prepares to celebrate 120 years

Francistown local organising committee hosted a motorcade around the city in preparation to celebrate the city’s 120 years of existence on October 21.

In an interview with BOPA, chairperson, Mr Keabetswe Bogatsu explained that the motorcade was held to raise awareness in Francistown.

He noted that it was important to be able to sensitise all of Francistowners to join in the celebrations.

He noted that they would be various activities on Saturday including a soccer match with a Zimbabwean team, High Landers while award winning musician, Vee would serenade the event.

One of the participants in the motorcade, Ms Edith Duiker pointed that it was a great initiative to be able to celebrate Francistown’s 120 years because they would be celebrating the city’s growth.

Another participant, Mr Onkgopotse Thumba appreciated the effort of the local organising committee to sensitise Batswana so they could all celebrate 120 years because everyone had a hand in building the city.

He encouraged Batswana to come celebrate growth of the city come Saturday. ENDS
