Bamalete Lutheran shines

Bamalete Lutheran Hospital and Bamalete Lutheran School of Nursing are this year’s best overall performing facilities in the health care sector.
Speaking recently during the award celebration in Ramotswa, senior manager cooperate services in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Ms Dikeledi Phefo said BLH had a traceable history in providing quality health service to Batswana.
Ms Phefo said the major achievement the hospital was celebrating was being the centre of excellence in providing sustainable, comprehensive customer focused health services comparable to local and global standards.
She said the School of Nursing had become a centre of excellence and well known for its pioneering spirit.
It has also contributed remarkably to the development of health care in Botswana.
Further, she said during the challenging economic meltdown and working under difficult conditions, the employees held their heads up and embraced the vision of the hospital.
She said the success and performance of an organisation were entirely upon the hard work and good work ethics by staff members.
Ms Phefo said government through the Ministry of Health and Wellness had been behind the successes through a formal agreement that ensured funds were made available to deliver quality health service.
She also encouraged the employees to inscribe their own legacy in BLH, so that the next generation would see the good works.
For his comments, the general manager of Evangelical Lutheran Mission from Germany, Mr Detlef Khors said they appreciated the awards that BLH and School of Nursing had been given as the best institution of best performers in health facility.
He further thanked the management for keeping the hospital clean at all times and he appreciated all staff for showing professionalism in assisting patients.
Mr Kohrs said the achievement brought joy, peace and love in the hospital.
Kgosi Mosadi Seboko of Balete said BLH had done a great job by achieving the best overall performing health facility award.
Kgosi Mosadi said the success was achieved through dedication and hard work displayed by the workers.
She encouraged BLH employees to always tighten up so that they keep the award for good.
Kgosi Mosadi also urged the community to cooperate with BLH doctors by listening to their instructions concerning medical check-ups.
Member of Parliament for Ramotswa, Mr Samuel Rantuana said they were grateful for the perseverance and determination of BLH employees to serve the community and putting the hospital up front.
“Performance is not by mistake, if you want to perform well you have to work hard and sweat to get an award,” he added.
In his comments, BLH board chairperson, Councilor Phenyo Segokgo said they were proud of BLH and School of Nursing because they were devoted and determined to serve the nation at large.
He said the hospital had a good reputation, which was well known throughout the whole country.
Mr Segokgo said the ‘hospital employees are committed in their work and there is peace and harmony in the hospital.’ ENDS
