Compassionlove builds nation

Minister of Agricultural Development and Food security, Mr Patrick Ralotsia has called on Batswana to remain compassionate.
Speaking at a house handover by the Kanye Administrative Authority in Kanye on Thursday, Mr Ralotsia said the status quo for humanity should prevail adding that compassion was one of the attributes that Batswana were known for which drove them to assist the less fortunate.
He said shared morality hinged around positive attributes of humanity, compassion, care and unconditional love for others, pointing out that the notion of
Botho needed to be rekindled to stimulate positive attitudes that would fight negative pressures and challenges.
He however warned that in failing to extend Botho the nation would be running a risk to compound hardships to their fellow human beings and their dependents.
He observed that the house which was built by a youthful Motswana, Ms Ratang Mosweu through soliciting sponsors for the project demonstrated the virtue of Botho which was part of Setswana culture that he argued needed to be nurtured. The mind-set of helping those in need would ensure the nation forged forward, he noted as he discouraged egocentric behaviours.
Nonetheless, Minister Ralotsia admired the three-roomed house noting shelter was an important facet of life that would enable the beneficiary Ms Kedibonye Pusoeng and family to have privacy.
He said the house was of great significance and it will definitely add value to the lives of the Pusoeng family.
Mr Ralotsia hailed Ms Mosweu’s contribution to the development of communities in the era which the country was plagued by youth delinquency, indulgence in habit forming substances and alcohol abuse.
He encouraged the family to take care of the house, pointing out that it needed to be respected and should not be a haven for illicit activities such as brewing of banned alcoholic beverages as that would betray its intended purpose. ENDS
