Masisi appreciates officers

Vice President Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi on October 7 hosted a party for public officers serving in the Moshupa Sub- district to appreciate them for their willingness to render humble service.
Speaking during the occasion, Mr Masisi said him and his wife Neo, organised the party with a view to thank the officers for their humble spirit of service.
“With this gesture, we want to say thank you with all our hearts,” he said.
Mr Masisi also conveyed gratitude from members of the public (service beneficiaries) to the service providers who had attended in throngs. He shared that residents were also appreciative of the services the officers provided across the sub district.
He said it was pivotal for all public officers to provide service with love, dignity and respect because they drove government programmes.
Mr Masisi re-affirmed that he would continue with some projects he had promised to do for officers among them, Trust, ICT development and provide them with I-pads, laptops, training and make them proud to serve in the area.
He explained that he had set aside some projects as a result of time and financial bottlenecks but would soon continue as promised even beyond his term in office.
Mr Masisi however, challenged the officers to engage in economic activities on the sides like farming to enhance their livelihoods.
He also encouraged the officers to work in sync, adding that coordination of effort towards a definite end was critical to service delivery.
Mr Masisi has also advised the officers to form a public officers cycling club and engage in physical exercise. To set the idea on motion, he pledged 17 bicycles for police officers and 10 more for other officers.
On other issues, Mr Masisi also area Member of Parliament, informed officers that government was mindful of their conditions of service and advised them not to lose heart.
“We appreciate how hard you work, even sometimes when we raise our voices against you, it’s not that we don’t like you,”he said.
Mr Masisi however apologised for the fact that for some years in the recent past he was not able to celebrate Independence Day commemorations with them due to official engagements and thanked them for understanding his situation.
When speaking on behalf of officers Mr Pilane Morokotso shared that the sub district has benefited immensely from the support and leadership provided by Mr Masisi.
He said Mr Masisi’s keen interest in developments spurred them to ensure projects were completed within time and budget.
Mr Morokotso further described Mr Masisi as a mentor and father figure who cared about their individual welfare across the district. He shared that he once gave them a lecture on governance and protocol.
Kgosi Boitshwarelo Difemo in his welcome remarks earlier on described Mr Masisi as a man of firsts.
He said it was virtually unheard of for a Vice President to throw public officers a party. Kgosi Difemo, however challenged the officers to work even harder as a way of appreciating Mr Masisi’s kind disposition.
The district commissioner Mr Mmoloki Raletobana, for his part, also thanked Mr Masisi for the gesture and described it as a shot in the arm for officers.
He said the gesture was a sign that leaders were aware that they were partners in service delivery .
The officers showered Mr Masisi with gifts, among them a goat, walking stick. ENDS
