Botswana Post values community

05 Oct 2017

Botswana Post has  embarked on a project to re-paint and provide furniture to Mookane Day Care Centre, to the value of P33 000.

Speaking at Botswana Post community service day and handing over ceremony in Mookane on Tuesday, Human Capital relationship manager-Central Mr Molemi Morentwa said Botswana Post valued the community in which it served.

Mr Morentwa said it was through the support of the community that the Post Office remained relevant through the ever changing business environment.

Further, Mr Morentwa said they strove to improve their services to ensure that they brought convenience to people’s lives. He noted that the support that they had received from the Mookane community and all the other communities across the 128 post offices was indeed humbling, hence the gesture.

He explained that as they expressed their gratitude to the Mookane community through this token of appreciation, he was certain that they believed that these children as future leaders would benefit.

“We have found it befitting to channel this contribution towards these bright faces at Mookane Day Care Centre to assist in ensuring that the foundation of their education takes place in a conducive environment,” he said.

Further, Mr Morentwa expressed gratitude to Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) who  contributed a total of P7 000 towards the donation.

He said the contribution was made at the choir competitions held in Mookane a day before the World Post Day commemorations, adding that not only did BOCRA contribute towards the community service initiative, they also sponsored the choir competition cash prizes worth P8 000.

He also expressed gratitude to the leadership of Mookane for the reception and hospitality they were accorded, adding that throughout the events they  received  dedication and support from the village leadership, Village Development Committee and Mookane Day Care Centre management. Other donated items included a teacher’s desk and chair, two book shelves , 20 children’s chairs and five children’s tables.ENDS
