Botswana enjoys uninterrupted multiparty democracy unity peace - Venson-Moitoi
30 Sep 2017
Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation, Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi says Batswana should remain proud because Botswana has, since independence in 1966, enjoyed uninterrupted multiparty democracy, unity, peace and development.
A press release from the ministry says such cardinal points are the foundation of Botswana's development trajectory.
Thus, Minister Venson-Moitoi has encouraged Batswana to continue to espouse such values if the country is to realise its Vision 2036 pillars and inclusive development.
She also says such principles also remain the cornerstone of Botswana's foreign policy, which she added project the common global vision of international peace and security, respect for human rights and sustainable development.
She also says the betterment of humanity will be an achievable aspiration if all members of the international community could individually and collectively commit to the universal values.
Also, she says, nation states should uphold principles of unity, self-determination and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity if global peace and tranquility is to reign. ENDS
