Session for departments under state president

Southern district commissioner, Mr Mmoloki Raletobana, has applauded public servants based in Kanye for preserving the spirit of togetherness and molding good relationship among staff in the workplace.

Mr Raletobana praised public servants during the BOT50+1 pre-independence session held at the district commissioner’s office in Kanye on September 27.

The staff who attended the session  were from the  department of Information Services, Pensions, Broadcasting, Immigration as well as District Administration.

He said the session was to bring various staff together and encouraging team spirit, also to celebrate the BOT50 +1 independence celebration early.

He challenged all the staff regardless of their status or positions to look at themselves and ask how they were contributing to the country and where they come from.

Raletobana urged them to support each other, sharing ideas and work under the same roof to service the community.

He applauded the staff of the departments for conducting sessions like this one because it will assist them to tackle challenges they are coming across.

He encouraged them to keep that good spirit.

Giving the independence message to the staff, Mr Keith Keti from the Department of Information Services said independence celebrations were meant for every single Motswana to retrospect and define their role to ensure that the nation forged forward.

Keti encouraged staff to work cooperatively together to take the country forward.

He said Botswana is now a middle income country which was once poor before independence. He said they should be proud about the success of country.  

Keith said Batswana and their forefathers are heroes who have done a lot to develop the country through self-reliance and democracy.

He said they wanted to leave behind good governance for their kids who would be leaders of tomorrow.

He told them that they should celebrate peacefully and should be united and proud nation to give others platform to celebrate. Get in the mood for Botswana’s milestone.

Mr Keti said various stakeholders regarding the various aspects of the celebrations should work hard to make the activities a successful.

He encouraged the spirit of tolerance in the celebrations which will identify the country for its peace and stability.

He said Batswana are known for their democracy, self-reliance and unity.

He said the country is the center attraction of good governance, urging staff to show up during the celebrations.

"Independence Day is one of the best Botswana holidays, both for what they celebrate and how they celebrate it, he said.

Keti mentioned that freedom of speech and expression everywhere in the country is well known.

He said freedom of every person to worship God in his own way everywhere in the country is allowed.

He said economic understandings will secure Batswana a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants everywher. ENDS
