Join hands to fight stock theft

25 Sep 2017

Stock theft in Kgatleng continues to be a cause for concern.

Over the years, specialised stock theft unit in Botswana Police was established as a way of curbing escalating cases of stcok theft.

Thus, Kgatleng District Council chairperson, Mr Mpho Morolong has appealed to all stakeholders including members of the community, farmers, syndicates and butchery operators to join hands in the fight against the crime.

He was speaking at the official opening of Kgatleng District Full Council session on September 25.

Mr Morolong, also applauded law enforcement agencies in particular, No.12 District Police officers, who kept on enlightening the community about stock theft.

Meanwhile, Mr Morolong put forth his road map, which had among others, “Ke Motho Le nako” initiative.

He said the nako ya Motswana phenomenon must be dealt with and be substituted with the initiative, which he believed could help individuals, public institutions, parastatals and the private sector to realise their dreams.

He said he had observed that most Batswana do not respect time. Mr Morolong further said they had identified needs, consulted, prioritised, documented and strategised and all what needed to be done was to put them into action. ENDS
