Finance ministry holds PPP workshop

Public Private Partnership (PPP) unit of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development is holding a five-day capacity building workshop for planning officers.
According to a press release from the ministry, the workshop, which started yesterday, will provide the officers with the necessary knowledge, approaches, methods and tools for the planning development and implementation of PPP projects.
It will present the PPP implementation process as provided for in the Public Private Partnership Policy and Implementation Framework.
The release states that the workshop will address issues of project inception, preparation and procurement, risk identification, allocation and mitigation; and will also look into reviewing the basic project and financing documentation from a bank ability perspective.
The release explains that the PPP unit was established to play an oversight role over the PPP Policy through among others, coordinating the implementation of PPP projects, project planning and approval of financing and processes of PPP projects. Ends
