Maokane Primary School seeks divine help
13 Sep 2017
When a school performs below par, concerned parents, teachers and the community are often compelled to devise strategies that will help pick up the student’s performance.
It is against this background that Maokane Primary School on Saturday organised a prayer meeting for the 53 pupils who would sit for the Primary School Leaving Examinations in a few weeks time to wish them the best of their abilities and luck.
Speaking during the occasion, village elder and Zion Christian Church leader, Mr Setlhoka said the prayers were intended to move God to release his enabling power to see learners through examination time.
Mr Setlhoka said if parents could show themselves unto God, love their children and raise them under the fear and wisdom of the Creator, he would answer their prayers.
He raised a concern that some children were being neglected by their parents which he feared had a negative bearing on their studies.
School head, Mrs Tiny Kenosi explained that after doing not-so-well in the last couple of years, the candle light was an expression of a desire to see the children pass and spread their wings.
A pastor from ECG church, Molefe Nkaro also stressed the need to raise children under the fear of God.
He said a positive attitude usually leads to positive results in life.
Thus he encouraged learners to develop a positive outlook towards their books, parents, teachers, school work and reap the benefits.
The event was held under the theme: Prayer: Key to Unlocking Potential. ENDS
