The Patron of Moroka Primary School in the North East, Mr Carter Morupisi has received donations of building materials from three companies for the completion of the school hostels.

The school has a special education unit for People Living With Disability and the hostels are meant to house learners who travel long distances from Moroka and neighbouring villages to attend classes.

Tiles and Sanitary ware City donated 480m2 floor tiles; Bae Nature donated two double doors, while Glazing Botswana donated some window frames.

Speaking at the handing over of the donations at the Office of the President garden, Mr Morupisi who is also the Permanent Secretary to the President thanked all the companies that continued to donate for the completion of the project.

He explained the project which was nearing completion would not only assist learners from Moroka , but would also cater for adjacent villages.

Mr Morupisi said the students continued to miss other school activities because they had to be fetched back to their respective villages.

Giving a vote of thanks, Member of Parliament for Tati West Mr Biggie Butale  said the donation was a gesture of Botho which had been one of the cornerstones of development in Botswana.

The managing director of Sanitary ware City, Mr Abdul Zaneer said the donation would go a long way in improving the lives and education journey of the learners.

For her part, general manager of Bae Nature, Ms Wen Chen pledged to continue donating building materials in future if need aroused.

Some of the children come from as far as Kalakamati, Masunga, Gumwe, Mbalambi and they commute every day to and from school.

The parents have to take the children every morning to the road side where a bus can pick them to school. ENDS
