Onishi unveils embassy calendar of events for year

The Embassy of Japan in Botswana has announced its calendar of events, including handing over P471. 397 to West Hanahai Primary School in the Ghanzi District.
Addressing the media, Ambassador Masahiro Onishi said the handing over would be held to commemorate the completion of Japan’s Grant Assistance Project for the construction of West Hanahai Pre-School in Ghanzi District, which was done through the Japanese government’s grant scheme under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP).
He said the handover ceremony would take place at West Hanahai Primary School on October 19 and said the project was the 44th approved amongst a total of 49 projects formulated since the grant scheme was introduced in Botswana in 1997.
Mr Onishi said other events to come include the signing ceremony of the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects Grant Contract, exhibition of over 100 pictures of students’ paintings from Japan, the Japan
Film Festival, Emperor’s Birthday reception and the dispatch of Botswana government official for training on civil service reforms in Japan. ENDS
