11 Sep 2017

Ministry of Transport and Communications acting chief roads engineer, Ms Lesego Moreagae has encouraged public employees to exercise regularly as that keeps stress, high blood pressure and sugar diabetes at bay. Ms Moreagae was a guest speaker at a wellness day conducted by the Department of Roads and Safety in Kanye on Thursday.

She said regular exercise was essential for a healthy mind. Improved fitness she said resulted in a happier soul.

The more public employees incorporated exercise in their daily lives the fewer visits to health facilities and sick offs, stated Ms Moreagae adding that good nutrition was not an option.

Ms Moreagae said public officers should be proud of who they were and the impact they made in improving the lives of those they served.

She said common diseases such as high blood pressure and sugar diabetes could be reduced with regular exercise and encouraged them to steer clear of smoking and alcohol.

The day held under the theme My Health, My Responsibility featured ball sports, aerobics, athletics and other body exercises.

Objectives of the day was to encourage public officers to exercise daily, plough vegetables and eat properly. Ends
