Kanye Administrative Authority (KAA) councillors were told during the on-going sub-council meeting in Kanye this week that one of the Vision 2036 pillars stated that individuals, government and non-governmental organisations should show the spirit of caring and compassion by donating to the less privileged members of different communities in the sub-district.
Addressing the on going council meeting in Kanye, council chairperson, Mr Tlhomamo Dibeela also commended KAA staff for their dedication in building houses for destitute persons at Lotlhakane East and ga Lopatlaoka ward in Kanye through community services days.
He said the Lotlhakane East house was complete and would be officially handed over on August 31.
He said ga Lopatlaoka house in Kanye was at plastering level and anticipated to be complete before the end of the year.
He appealed to councillors to have the spirit of generosity and remember that blessed is the hand that gives than one that receives.
Dibeela noted that KAA received P38 962 736 inclusive of revenue support grant, primary school feeding, hand stamping, Ipelegeng projects and destitute housing.
He said the income collection stood at 10.09 per cent as at June, meaning that P290 372 out of the quarterly income budget of PP719 180 had been collected.
He said despite the under collection that they experienced there were some votes which collected fairly well such as community centre fees, bye law fees, hiring of classrooms, insurance commission, school fees and trade licenses. ENDS
