Baobab Private School scouts and girl guide have donated office and reception class stationery to Paje kgotla and Paje reception class respectively as part of their social responsibility, Friday.

Priding itself a multicultural school Baobab, located in Phase II, Gaborone, made a stopover in Paje following their tour of Khama Rhino Sanctuary to demonstrate their benevolence by donating the goodies at the village kgotla.

Speaking at the handover, Baobab deputy school head, Mr Mokwadi Rahube connected their move to heeding President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama’s call to support the less privileged, by donating to reception class such items as books as a way of ensuring their solid foundation in education.

He said kgotla was an epicentre of the village where consultations regarding village development were carried out hence needed to be resourced comprised to ensure proper documentation of village information.

In quest to build a solid foundation for education, Mr Rahube challenged villagers to each contribute P10 monthly to benefit the preschool.

He said such could go a long way in promoting quality education in the village.

When accepting the gifts Paje Primary School head, Ms Othusitse Pereko compared Baobab School to the Biblical Good Samaritan.

She said despite availability of basic amenities in the village, her school was in dire need of support and consequently requested from Baobab management a working partnership to the benefit of both parties.

She argued that though amenities were good for progress they, on the other hand disadvantaged her school since the Good Samaritans opted to assist schools in her vicinity with a view that hers was resourced.

Ms Pereko observed that it was critical for preschool children to receive a firm and strong foundation in education.

Kgosi Nagano Martin commended Baobab Private School for inculcating in their students some acceptable manners while young enough to stick forever.

He deemed as sheer benevolence the gesture by the school to donate stationery to his kgotla and the school. ENDS
