Women need to be positive
08 Aug 2017
Women have been urged to be positive and develop high self-esteem to overcome challenges they encounter in their lives.
The sentiments were shared by different women during the Women to Women brunch event in Jwaneng recently.
They were advised to support and uplift one another in business, social life, careers and otherwise.
One of the speakers, Ms Gorata Ramasaka said most women suffered in silence and kept things to themselves, which often caused depression.
She noted that they needed to open and seek help from other women or experts to avoid being victims of abuse.
“A women is naturally of high value and we need not to de-value ourselves by settling for less. We need to always remember that we are created unique and beautiful,” advised Ms Ramasaka.
For her part, Ms Stella Keipeile noted that problems could easily disappear when women unite.
She emphasised that women were the backbone of their families and therefore they were capable of uniting the nation through discipline and love.
Ms Keipeile was of the view that it was better to talk to a fellow woman and show her weaknesses than to talk about her to another woman.
She said women should believe in themselves and never let anybody tell them they cannot do anything.
“Be a role model to your children, your partner, siblings and colleagues and be happy for another woman’s accomplishment. Develop the personality that sounds well with the community ethics,” Ms Keipeile said.
The event organiser, Ms Tsholofetso Kwadiba also explained that the event, which was in its second edition, gave women a platform to unite and share ideas and experiences on love, relationships, career and health issues.
She pleaded with sponsors to come on board to assist in making the event a success that is held after every two months. ENDS
