01 Aug 2017

Miss World Telecommunications and Information Society Day (WTISD)2017 Ms Naledi Baeletsi has donated blankets to the elderly and the disabled of Masunga and surrounding villages.

Ms Baeletsi was crowned queen in May during the WTISD commemoration in Masunga following which she embarked on a CSR project to donate to the needy in Masunga, Vukwi, Gambule and Gungwe.

The beauty queen contributed P4 000 while VDC donated P37 00 towards the cause.

Handing over the blankets in Masunga on Friday Ms Baeletsi said she chose this project because the elderly were people closer to her heart.

She stated that most times these people are forgotten hence she saw it fit to remember them so that they feel special.

The beauty queen said when one donates to the elderly they are complying with the bible teaching that “honour your mother and father so that your days on earth will be multiplied .”

One of the recipients Mr Kay Phuthego thanked the beauty queen for the gesture.

He highlighted that it takes a lot for one to donate adding that had it been somebody else who won the prize money they could have spent it and not bother helping others.

Councillor for Masunga Mr Elias Mbonini said people should emulate what Ms Baeletsi had done.

He commended her for her goodwill adding that such deeds should be promoted.

He thanked Mascom for hosting the pageant of which the gate takings were added to the money that bought the blankets. ENDS
