30 Jul 2017

In line the Vision 2016 pillar of a compassionate, just and caring nation, Botlhatlogo Primary School in Ngami District has donated toiletry to children living with disability at Cheshire Foundation.

While on an education tour around Gaborone, the school visited Cheshire Foundation of Botswana in Mogoditshane and donated the goods.

The school’s Parents and Teachers Association chairperson, Ms Abidile Mmelesi handed the donation to the executive director of Cheshire, Mr Billy Masebola.

The Cheshire Foundation was founded in 1988 by the community, and is a non-profit making charity organisation committed to providing quality rehabilitation services to people with disabilities (PLWDs).

The late Sir Ketumile Masire was the patron of the foundation.

Mr Masebola showed gratitude towards the schools contribution in assisting children living with disabilities.

He said their vision as a foundation in partnership with people living with disabilities was to create a society that provided an enabling environment that promoted equal opportunities for all.

He said their mission was to assist people living with disabilities throughout Botswana, regardless of their colour, race, or creed by providing the conditions necessary for their physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.

He stated that PLWDs were at the heart of everything they do as a foundation and were integrated in all planning and delivery of their work and programmes. ENDS
