Kaizer Chiefs give to community

South African football club, Kaizer Chiefs have donated to the community of Satellite South in Francistown as part of their social responsibility.
Kaizer Chiefs communications manager, Vina Maphosa said through their corporate social investment, they wanted to be closer to the people and give them love they deserved.
“Back in South Africa, we have what is called the Mandela month. This is the month on which we give to the poor and less privileged,” said Maphosa.
During hand over of chairs at Boikhutso Clinic recently, Francistown deputy mayor, Godisang Radisego said the donation would help address shortage of chairs for patients at the clinic.
The team also donated stationary at Satellite Primary School.
Kaizer Chiefs manager, Bobby Motaung said they had made it their responsibility to support educational programmes.
“We are here to learn other values and to inspire children. We also want to understand what children are going through,” he said.
The Phefeni Glamour boys captain, Itumeleng Khune advised students to be obedient to their parents and teachers emphasising that they were the future of Botswana.
“You ought to listen to your parents and teachers. You are the future of Botswana and you should also know that you are the role models of tomorrow,” he highlighted.
For his part, Kaizer Chiefs coach, Stephen Khomphela added that sports and education went together and both required discipline.
“The discipline in a class is the same as on the ground. Study hard, complete your studies, then solve the world’s problems,” said Khomphela.
Township Rollers’ Jagdish Shah welcomed Kaizer Chiefs and also expressed his pleasure in meeting them for the first time.
Shah also handed Satellite students 50 match tickets for the battle between Township Rollers and Kaizer Chiefs at Francistown Sports Complex.
Regarding Kaizer Chiefs visit to Tshimologo Stimulation Centre, Township Rollers public relations officer, Phempherethe Pheto said it was gratifying to see a big team like Kaizer Chiefs humbling themselves and being in the same level with the less privileged.
He further noted that for someone to care for people with disability, they needed wisdom and strength. ENDS
