In a rare occurrence, Tirelo Sechaba participant, Ms Lame Molefi scored a first as she was awarded best performance by a Tirelo Sechaba participant during Regional Education Office excellence awards on July 20.

The awards, held at Serowe Hotel, were to recognise and appreciate the outstanding performance of the employees under the Ministry of Basic Education as an effort to motivate them to keep the good work going.

Ms Molefi was picked by the committee that believed she earned the award because of her diligence in her work place in the Records Management Unit.

According to the awarding committee, Ms Molefi implemented the public service ten point agenda and went an extra mile.

Her display of good work ethic and outstanding service delivery is what set her apart from her peers as the most deserving for the coveted award.

In an interview, Ms Molefi revealed that some of the actions she took that probably convinced the award committee to hand her the award was because she took her work seriously.

“Unlike other TSPs who work from 7:30am to 2:30pm, I decided to go up to 4:30pm and such enabled me to do and learn more.”

She further explained that she made sure that she managed her time well by always being punctual and arriving earlier than expected and because of that, she was able to achieve a lot in such a small space of time.

As an advice to all her fellow Tirelo Sechaba participants, Ms Molefi urged them to disregard the allowance and treat their work seriously and work hard because they never know where opportunities beckon. ENDS
