23 Jul 2017

Francistown District Commissioner (DC), Ms Chabongwa Matseka has implored public officers in the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration to keep up with changes happening in government.

Speaking at a general staff meeting for officers from the ministry on July 21, Ms Matseka said when government made some changes, they also ought to change in order to keep up so that they were not left behind.

“Government priorities are changing every day and therefore we need to keep up and not find ourselves stuck in the past,” she said.

She urged the officers to pull up their socks in implementing the mandate of the ministry as well as of their departments and put more effort in their professions.

Ms Matseka further encouraged them to appreciate their jobs and be productive because they complemented one another in achieving the objectives of the ministry.

“Every designation is important in its own way, therefore working together harmoniously will make the working environment conducive for all to do their work effectively,” she added.

In addition, she urged them to be motivated to come to work on time and manage the working hours wisely in order to deliver without being pushed by their supervisors.

She commended the staff for reaching out to the communities through initiatives such as taking services to the people, saying it had brought positive feedback.

Ms Matseka also encouraged them to continue serving the public with respect as Botho was essential at all times.

The DC commended the officers for using the limited resources they have to deliver on their mandates and not making it an excuse not to be productive. ENDS
