Companies give to Presidential Charitable Trust

Different companies handed over donations to the Presidential Charitable Trust to assist the needy members of the community.

 

When handing over a donation of 1 100 blankets worth P200 000 under the catchphrase “Warm Winter” president of Charity Association of Chinese in Botswana, Mr Miles Nun said  June and July were normally the coldest months of the Winter season, hence the association was compelled to contribute warm winter blankets to the trust.

 

“We  Chinese Charity Association Community in Botswana feel it is the right time to get ourselves together and contribute winter blankets, so that they can be given to those who are in need,” he said.

 

He said their goal was to annually give back to the community, something that was in line with Vision 2016 pillar of Compassionate, Just and Caring Nation.

 

Mr Nun said ‘Warm Winter’ donation was carried out annually since the establishment of the association in 2012.

 

Another company, Truck Hire, donated soccer four soccer kits, while Spar donated volleyball kit worth P10 000, while Dulux donated a cheque for P5 000.

 

Spar assistant marketing director, Mr Mukani Terrence said as Spar, they were willing to support local sport codes.

 

He said the kit would be used to keep youth busy in sporting activities, and reduce idling. Chef executive officer of Truck Hire, Mr Kevin Lees said they give with open heart to less fortunate community.

He said his company would continue to contribute towards putting smiles to the less fortunate. 

 

Dulux factory manager, Mr Lefika Segwagwa said his organisation had been engaged in several initiatives that add value to the less fortunate members of the community and that previously they had played part in a number of community service day activities.

 

When receiving the donations, National Strategy Office, Deputy Director, Dr Kolaatamo Malefho thanked the companies for their goodwill towards the Presidential Charitable Trust.

 

He said since 2009, the trust had received various donations towards this good course.

 

“I thank you very much for the efforts by your businesses. You will be blessed for many fold for the goodwill that you have shown to Batswana,” he said. He encouraged other companies to contribute towards the trust which he said has over the years received different donations. ENDS
