Ministry of Transport and Communication informs the public that on July 6 at approximate 3:15pm, a sling II aircraft registered A2-USC was involved in a fatal accident just outside Lentsweletau.

A press release from the ministry states that the aircraft belonged to International Aviation Solutions, and that it was on a routine solo flight training at the general flying area when the accident occurred.

A pilot lost her life in the accident. It states that the cause of the accident is yet to be established, and that a team of air safety investigators from the ministry have left for the accident site to conduct investigations into the circumstances surrounding the occurrence.

The ministry will like to appeal to any members of the public who may have observed the aircraft before, during or immediately after the occurrence to assist the investigations. ENDS
