Maele in Swaziland for SADC ministers meeting

Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services, Mr Prince Maele is in Swaziland to attend the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) joint meeting of energy and water ministers and a high ministerial workshop and energy investment forum.
A news release from the ministry states that the SADC joint meeting will be held tomorrow followed by the ministerial workshop on July 12- 13 respectively.
Mr Maele will also attend the Okavango River Basin Water Commission (OKACOM) minister’s forum while in Swaziland.
Ministers responsible for water and energy will jointly be able to review progress in the implementation of their individual sectoral programmes in which the objectives are to review the status of implementation of the SADC water programme as detailed in the fourth phase of the Regional Strategic Action Plan (RSAP IV)
They will also review the implementation of the decisions of ministers at their last meeting as well as the outcomes of continental and international forums on water, review the outcomes of both the council and summit meetings specifically relating to water.
Water and energy ministers will also review preparatory processes to feed into international water forums and other emerging issues in the sector or affecting the sector, especially preparations for the 8th World Water Forum in 2018.
They will also discuss issues pertaining to the high level SADC ministerial workshop and energy investment forum to be held on July 12th and 13th respectively.
The minister will be accompanied by the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services, Mr Thato Raphaka, deputy permanent secretary, Mr Thatoyaone Dedede and director for Water Affairs, Ms Bogadi Mathangwane.
The delegation will be back on July 17th. ENDS
