Police suspect foul play in Mopipi death

Palapye police have arrested five young men, amongst them Lotsane Senior Secondary School students to help them with investigations in an incident in which an 18-year-old man was found dead over the weekend.
Assistant Superintendent Makhura said the five suspects were aged between 17 and 21-years-old, and that two of which were students.
He said the deceased, whose names are still withheld, was suspected to have been stabbed with a sharp object.
Assistant Superintendent Makhura said police investigations were ongoing while the suspects were due for mention before the Palapye Magistrate Court this week.
In another incident, police have called on the public to help them with information that could lead to the arrest of a driver of a vehicle that knocked two women near the new Palapye Police Station on Monday.
Assistant Superintendent Makhura said the driver knocked down the two women and drove away.
The two women are recuperating at the Palapye Primary Hospital and Nyangabwe Referral Hospital.
In another incident, two police officers who were not on duty died in a car accident along the A1 road near Makoro after their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.
Assistant Superintendent Makhura said the two were trapped in their vehicle which caught fire on collision.
The two were certified dead upon arrival at hospital. ENDS
