Liberty Life Botswana managing director says they have a long history in developing and delivering leading Bancassurance products, and that they have managed to contribute to the growth of non-interest income for their partners.
Speaking at the Barclays Bank of Botswana and Liberty Life Botswana partnership launch recently, Ms Lulu Rasebotsa said their partnership with Barclays Bank was a natural fit as it was the coming together of two brands deeply rooted in Africa.
“It is indeed a great honour to have you here as we celebrate what is the culmination of hard work, dedication and the desire to give our mutual clients nothing but the best value through the launch of the Bosele Life and Tshireletso plans,” she said, adding that they appreciate and understand their people and their diversity of cultures.
“We know what is needed for them to lead prosperous lives, free of worry about the future,” said Ms Rasebotsa, further noting that Liberty Life was the underwriter of the products with Barclays Bank. She added that together they had insurmountable experience in providing Batswana with products and services designed to enhance the quality of their lives.
She said through the two plans, they would give their mutual clients an opportunity to secure the future of their families should they no longer be able to so.
Ms Rasebotsa noted that the Bosele Life plan provided life cover of up to P15million with limited medical underwriting, and that there was no waiting period as once a client had been accepted, cover started immediately.
“Further to that, it is a whole life cover and Barclays clients can rest assured that their cover will never expire at any specified term.
They will be covered for the rest of their lives. Bosele Life plan has optional benefits being permanent disability, physical impairment, critical illness and immediate expense benefits. A claim from optional benefits will not reduce the main core benefit, which is the life cover,” she said.
She noted that the Tshireletso Insurance plan gave a client a lump sum to help ease the financial burden that one suffered due to critical illness, and that the cover provided benefits level from P50 000 to P250 000.
“Critical illness includes cancer, stroke, major organ transplant and heart attack,” she said.
For his part, the retail director at Barclays Bank, Mr Brighton Banda said the bank was proud to have been providing Batswana with relevant, affordable and reliable financial services.
“We tirelessly endeavour to become this nation’s bank of choice and with over six decades in Botswana we continue to diversify our portfolio, offering a one stop shop for banking services ranging from savings and investments, transactional, lending and insurance services both short and long-term,” he said.
He said the bank’s focus was being a partner for growth and being equally passionate about sharing that growth with communities, using their expertise, coverage, infrastructure and affiliations. ENDS
