Member of Parliament for Shoshong, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele has implored Shoshong constituency retired public officers to form a committee or leadership forum to tackle constituency challenges.
Mr Makgalemele, Assistant Minister of Health and Wellness,, encouraged retired officers to work together in developing the constituency and join village committees to share their skills and experiences.
He said through such committees, officers could mobilise communities to come up with projects to sustain themselves and not solely rely on government.
Mr Makgalemele said government was doing everything in its power to revive corporative societies and appealed to those who had worked for such establishments to revive them.
He said having worked for the country in different departments they could use their skills to lure investors to the constituency and help bring the constituency to where it was before.
To former teachers, he said they should help improve deteriorating results in schools, especially Shoshong Senior Secondary School, noting that education was among areas that needed assistance.
Shoshong Your Investment Destination initiative, he said, promoted the Adopt-A-School and Alumni programmes to allow the community to have an input in the children’s education.
Mr Makgalemele said the constituency needed them to help create employment, eradicate poverty and improve the livelihood of the communities by among others, promoting good health practices.
