The executive chairperson of Babereki Insurance Brokers, Mr Andrew Motsamai says introduction of the motor insurance demonstrates the growth of Botswana Public Service Union (BOPEU) over the years.

Mr Motsamai informed public officers during the launch of BOPEU motor scheme dubbed ‘Hello Motor’ in Maun that the launched signified part of the expansion in the insurance industry.

He told members of Shagumagwe region that the insurance was a step in the right direction as it was designed to provide affordable insurance cover for members.

In addition, he noted that they would continue to look for more enterprise opportunities so that the profits realised from such enterprises would be ploughed back to benefit the members.

However, he implored members to take advantage of the available services aimed at improving their lives.

He said they want to see public officers working actively to contribute to the country’s economy.

“We don’t want to see our members being exposed and exploited to exorbitant prices in enterprises or market hence we introduced our affordable insurance,” he said.

Mr Motsamai observed that the insurance company had tailor-made products which were affordable and urged his audience to take advantage of such.

He said going forward they would continue to engage in profitable initiatives for the betterment of the welfare of BOPEU members.

The executive chairperson explained that Babereki investment was a wholly owned company of BOPEU and was incorporated in order to delink the business from the advocacy role of the union.

The company, he said aimed at maximizing returns of investment for the members.

BOPEU president, Ms Masego Mogwera said they found it fit to roll out the new product to different regions of BOPEU structures so that members could have first hand information and utilise the available products.

She said the scheme was a unique product offering reasonable prices adding that the new product was meant to insure security to properties of the union members.

Ms Mogwera encouraged all to take advantage and insure their properties. ENDS
