Kgosi commends VDC philanthropic work

Tsabong deputy kgosi, Kgosi Richard Toto says the humanitarian gesture extended by Tsabong East Development Committee (VDC) towards the less fortunate members of community is commendable and should be emulated by all.
In an interview, Kgosi Toto said he always challenged institutions to transform the lives of their communities, adding that Tsabong East VDC heeded the call.
“Tsabong East VDC completed five projects across the village to assist those who lack the means and the projects include erection of stand pipes and construction of toilets,” stated Kgosi Toto.
Tsabong East VDC chairperson, Ms Rachel Jagter said by giving to the community they were only repaying the trust placed on them by the people.
She said they were concerned by the level of poverty in certain parts of Tsabong, saying as VDC, they were challenged to make a difference in the community.
Ms Jagter said their projects started in 2012 and that the latest work they did was last year.
She said they had built three toilets for different families in Tsabong to the tune of P42 000 and connected water to homesteads in Botsogile, Ikaneng and Legonono wards.
VDC’s, she said, were meant to serve communities, noting that they intended to continue with their philanthropic activities in the future.
She encouraged other VDC’s to place the needs of their communities first.
Kgosi Toto urged the youth to make use of income generating programmes available to make a living. ENDS
