MP urges residents to fight crime

Area S residents in Francistown have been encouraged to be involved in fighting crime in their area.
Member of Parliament for Francistown East, Mr Buti Billy encouraged residents to cooperate and work with the police.
Mr Billy commended Kgetsi ya tsie cluster for their efforts in preventing and fighting crime, a feat made possible by an active neighbourhood watch, and also for receiving an award for being the best in crime prevention.
He condemned youth who copied other’s business proposals, saying it was the reason some businesses were not growing.
He said individuals who submitted copied or bought business proposals for grants would fail because the idea was not theirs and advised that authenticity was key in running a business.
Area S residents had earlier complained about the lack of streetlights in their ward, which they said led to increased crime.
Ward Development Committee chairperson, Ms Emma Moatswi, said the situation worsened robbery incidences.
She pleaded with the MP for speed humps as the lack of posed danger to school children. ENDS
