Church donates blankets to rehabilitation centre
22 May 2017
The Revealed Word Ministries Church in Gaborone (RWMC) donated 49 blankets and children’s winter clothing to Motswedi Rehabilitation Centre.
Speaking at the donation ceremony, Pastor Grace Guga said the Bible stated that “blessed is the hand that giveth than the hand that receives.” She added that they were also blessed to be handing the gifts to the school.
She said the blankets would help the centre during the winter season as some students stayed in the school.
She explained that they learnt about Motswedi from a church mate who visited the centre and decided to contribute towards the centre so they could assist where there was need.
She said they had been working with the Mochudi branch to help the people of Mochudi.
Furthermore Pastor Guga encouraged the students as well as the staff to be friends with God so he could provide for them and also asked them to have faith in the Lord that they were not alone but with him.
She thanked the staff for dealing with the children as it was not easy for one to deal with people living with disability as they needed special attention and care.
Kgosi Molefe Motlhagodi thanked RWM Church for choosing Motswedi and for the gifts they had for the children.
He said better things would happen to Motswedi if all people worked together as one and contributed to the children’s welfare as it lightened the children’s mood, adding that the children were the future leaders and should be cared for.
Kgosi Motlhagodi encouraged the children to appreciate the work that was being done for them and also be loving and kind towards one another so they could be able to grow in the faith.
He added that parents should also be a part of the children’s life and not leave it to the centre.
Village Development Committee chairperson and also Motswedi board member Mr Justice
Modimakwane thanked the pastor and her entourage for noticing the efforts of Motswedi as it helped all children living with disability in Botswana and needed much assistance.
Mr Modimakwane said if all parents could take part in their children’s school work instead of just bringing their children to school and not following up on their progress, adding that sometimes parents should help bring their children to school when the school transport had problems instead of putting themselves and their plans first.
He said they appreciated all efforts from all stakeholders who donated to the centre as it helped build a strong centre for everyone and also gave the staff motivation in their everyday duties.
Motswedi Rehabilitation coordinator Ms Salang Rapoo said it always brouht joy to the children to have guests in the school as it took time for people to come through.
She thanked the RWM Church for taking their time to visit the school and also mingling with the children as it gave them courage and hope for a better tomorrow, adding that they became more active when they saw guests.
Moreover Ms Rapoo said the government partially sponsored them so they could not achieve all their goals but with the help such as the gift from the RWM Church they achieved some of their dreams and remained hopeful that more blessings were coming their way. ENDS
