Butale joins peers in cooperatives meeting

The Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Biggie Butale left the country on Saturday to attend the Africa Co-operative Ministerial Conference (ACMC) Midterm Review in Casablanca Morocco which will take place from tomorrow toFriday.

According to a press release from the trade ministry, Mr Butale will be attending the conference in his capacity as chairperson of the ACMC. The conference is expected to bring together all Africa cooperatives, cooperators and their development partners.

“The conference will discuss among others, the Sustainable Development Goal Number one: Ending poverty in all its forms; and member states’ progress reports since the last Africa Co-operative ministerial conference in Gaborone in 2015,” the statement reads.

The release further states that the assistant minister will also launch the Africa Co-operative Development Strategy 2017-2020. He is accompanied by Botswana Cooperative Association representative and senior government officials and is expected back in the country on May 28. ENDS
