University of Cincinnati visits Mabogo Junior Secondary School

21 May 2017

Professor Vannesa Allen-Brown of the University of Cincinnati in the United States of America (USA) has applauded Mabogo Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers for their commitment in their job.

Prof. Allen-Brown was speaking in Palapye recently during the University’s visit to Mabogo JSS.

She was responding to Mabogo JSS headmaster, Mr Polite Malambani, who explained that in their quest to produce good results, the school was faced with challenges such as shortage of resources.

Mr Malambani informed delegates from Cincinnati that the school was without a photocopying machine, yet it was an important tool to them.

Other challenges, he said, were shortage of furniture, classrooms, science labs and apparatus as well as insufficient staff houses.

He however said they were doing all they could to help students and was hopeful that relations between the two institutions would go a long way in helping them achieve their mission and vision.

Prof. Allen-Brown applauded Mabogo JSS for working with the meager resources at their disposal. She encouraged the students to study hard and be the best they could.

Prof. Allen-Brown donated P8 000 for the school to purchase a photocopying machine.

Acting chief education officer, Ms Onalethata Thitoyamore acknowledged the joint relationship between University of Cincinnati and Mabogo JSS and encouraged them to work together as a team.

She said Palapye schools were crowded, owing to the population.

She pleaded with the University of Cincinnati to lobby their friends. ENDS
