Sebego VDC impresses

Kanye Administrative Authority Social and Community Development Committee chairperson, Mr Simon Ramaphoi, has commended Sebego Village Development Committee (VDC)for extending a helping hand towards the needy.
Speaking during a handover of two toilets worth P10 000 to two families in Kanye recently, Councillor Ramaphoi said such a gesture should be emulated by other VDCs.
Further, Mr Ramaphoi, who is a councillor for Gasita, applauded them for being the first VDC to extend such a gesture.
“Out of the 26 wards in Kanye, you are the first to show such commitment and carry out your social responsibility,” he said.
Mr Ramophoi stated that by doing so, they were also fulfilling one of vision 2016 pillars of a compassion, just and caring nation.
He therefore challenged other Batswana to pull up their socks and better their lives.
For her part, Sebego VDC chairperson, Ms Hilda Kgomotso said they saw it prudent to dig deep into their pockets to ensure that beneficiaries live dignified lives.
She said they used income generated from monthly rentals and donations from an array of well-wishers in Kanye.
When receiving the donation, Ms Kenanao Mosime, who is one of the beneficiaries, thanked Sebego VDC for showing compassion towards them.
She encouraged them to continue extending such a gesture to others in need. ENDS
