Foundation donates to pre-school

THC Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded in 2012 by retired Lt Gen. Tebogo Masire recently donated winter clothing to Batlang Pre-School in Mogoditshane.

Speaking during the handing over of the donation recently, THC Foundation chairperson, Lt Gen. Masire applauded the founder of the school  Ms Poppy Motsumi for having put up the facility which helped orphans and vulnerable children.

He commended Ms Motsumi for her voluntary spirit and dedicating her time to taking care of the children.

“Our foundation aims at supporting victims of domestic violence through counselling, mentoring and donations,” he added.

He noted that Botswana needed people who did not spare their lives to take responsibility for other people’s needs.

He urged other people to partake in the upbringing of orphans and vulnerable children as they also had a bright future ahead of them.

“Mogoditshane village is lucky to have hard workers like Ms Motsumi,” he noted.

Receiving the donation, Batlang Pre-School coordinator, Ms Poppy Motsumi said the school enroled destitute and vulnerable children, adding that it started as a home based care support group for HIV/AIDS infected people and they later turned it into a pre-school.

Ms Motsumi thanked the THC foundation for the donation and asked the public to emulate the foundation by assisting the school.

Giving a vote of thanks, Councillor for Nkoyaphiri Central, Mr Bakang Matlho expressed happiness that THC saved the children from winter.

Cllrs Matlho encouraged Lt Gen. Masire to adopt the pre-school saying it could help in its development. ENDS
