The first ever Travel expo (Travel & Holiday Gateway Show) will be held inside Game City shopping mall by food court area next month.

A press release from Travel Expo says the idea behind the  two day event is to introduce the general public to the idea of traveling and tourism while reiterating that tourism could  be both local and international.

The release says during the show, Travel & Holiday services providers such as Air Namibia, Etihad Airways, Harvey World, Travel House, Mahube Express, Hospitality, Tourist crafts, Destination experts, Safaris and other vendors will have a stall open for the public to visit and see how best they can take advantage of travel & holiday packages available.

Tourism is the second largest contribution to the GDP in Botswana, but when one looks at the statistics they will notice that the bulk of the people taking advantage of tourism facilities in this country are foreigners.

The travel Expo aims to bridge this gap.

Travel Expo says one would be amazed by how many Batswana do not know any other tourist sites in the country besides the Chobe and Okavango.

The Travel Expo plans on introducing people not only to other venues, locations or hotels but also give them ideas on how best to make their dream trips come true with just the right knowledge and contacts.

They stated that Tourism and Travel, or a holiday, starts with a weekend away from home spent in a hotel in the same city, or spending the night at a hotel when at your home village for family events, in the moves on to going further and exploring other places.

Travel Expo explained that the one thing the above scenarios have in common is planing, and no one can plan without knowledge and information which is where they come in to assist.

The Travel Expo visitors will not only be treated to information but also stand a chance to win and walk away with loads of giveaways, travel discounts, Air tickets and merchandises.

Entrance is free to everyone who wants to Visit and attend the show and limited Exhibition stalls are available to those interested in showcasing their travel and holiday services and products to Botswana.

The show has been proudly endorsed by Botswana Tourism Oranisation (BTO). ENDS
