Kanye Seventh-day Adventist Hospital Superintendent has on behalf of management commended Dr Janie Yoo, an eye specialist who hails from Lusaka for the ‘tremendous work’she has done on voluntary basis over the years at the facility. Dr Innocent Mungandi said during an occasion to bid Dr Yoo farewell in Kanye on Friday that he had had a special relationship with Kanye Seventh-day hospital for the annual eye campaign since 2014.
“Dr Yoo started her yearly blessed work at this hospital in 2014 where a total of 428 patients got back their sight and of course with a 100 per cent success rate,” he said.
Meanwhile Dr Mungandi announced Dr Yoo will now pass the baton to the Hawaiian Eye Foundation under the watchful eye of Darrah Kauhane.
Dr Yoo relayed that the campaign was made possible by the existing Seventh-day Adventist Church network across the globe.

A religiously inclined and follower of Christ, Dr Yoo called on everybody to pin their hopes in Christ whose second coming will bring to a stop all the calamities of life.
One of the patients who underwent operation at the capable hands of Dr Yoo could not hide his pleasure for the service he recently received at the hospital.
Mr Montsheki Leposo said he received his healing from a five months cataract condition that nearly ruined his life.
“I just blacked-out one evening while I was about to start the engine of my car and by the grace of God albeit suffering temporary blindness was led to this place where I regained my full sight following successful operation on both eyes,” he said.

He said the ‘first class’ care rendered to him and fellow patients during the time of his hospitalization was next to none ; something he said has compelled him to book for check-up at Kanye SDA hospital although he stays in Gaborone.
Dr Nephious Mwandila from Kanye SDA Nursing School echoed words of fellow colleagues about the love and commitment that Dr Yoo had shown throughout the eye campaign.
He also commended the entire team, saying by rendering top-notch service, they had indeed made a name for the hospital which was celebrated over the world for its sterling work.
“It is not an easy thing to make yourself a good name but it is very difficult to destroy one once established,” he said. ENDS
