Plan for constituency fund - MP
12 May 2017
Member of Parliament (MP) for Kanye South has advised his constituents to come up with creative proposals for the P10 Million earmarked for constituencies.
Mr Abram Kesupile told residents of Betesankwe near Jwaneng during a kgotla meeting he addressed in the settlement on May 11 that they would get a platform to suggest development initiatives they desired for their area.
He explained that the money was intended to expedite projects they could not ordinarily do under the normal National Development Plan.
Mr Kesupile thus encouraged constituents to come up with initiatives that could enhance the rural economy and directly improve their livelihoods.
He also encouraged Southern District authorities to move fast, lest the money returned to the national coffers unused at the end of the current financial year.
Meanwhile, Village Development Committee treasurer, Mr Gabonaope Mabote informed residents that they had suggested market stalls for the settlement.
For her part, VDC chairperson, Ms Ratanang Ramoleele complained that Ipelegeng workers payments were always delayed. She also requested for the settlement to be connected to the national power grid. ENDS
