Have personal visions

10 May 2017

Ba Isago University managing director, Mr Odirile Gabasiane has urged public employees to have personal visions to support those of their ministry and government.

Mr Gabasiane said this at the south east district council and tribal administration joint staff excellence awards ceremony in Ramotswa recently.

“All of us in life must have visions, it is important to us all,” he said, adding individual’s vision subscribed to that of government and country.

He encouraged employees to adopt positive mind-set which he said was still a challenge in Botswana.

“They do not believe that hard work, commitment and vision are nothing else but building blocks for success,” he said.

He also urged staff to work hard and create more opportunities to open new prospects for locals.

Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development strategy manager, Mr Wadza Tema appealed to staff to be ready for change because communities changed over time.

Council secretary, Mr Lebuile Israel said the council staff existed to satisfy the needs of the south east community at all times.

“This district is not about machines, equipments or money, it is all about us, we are there to serve the community,” he said.

The awards ceremony, he said, was to celebrate the staff that excelled while serving the community.

Mr Israel further said there was need to review how the district had been handling its awards ceremony, adding that there was need for the whole district to have joint awards ceremony.  ENDS
