ESP projects to benefit Kgalagadi North - Tsogwane
07 May 2017
Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Slumber Tsogwane has praised the Economic Stimulus Programme, saying it stimulates economic growth and creates employment.
The minister said this during the Kgalagadi North ESP projects handing over in Zutshwa last week.
He said the projects, which were mostly implemented through ESP, were projects which had been postponed during National Development 10 due to financial restrains.
He explained that the projects included construction of education facilities, roads infrastructure and construction of customary courts.
He further stated that through ESP, quality infrastructure was built which was one of the commitments his ministry abided by in order to improve livelihoods.
Mr Tsogwane appreciated that four projects which were carried out in Kgalagadi North under ESP were all delivered within budget and on schedule.
The projects handed over included classroom blocks, toilet blocks and LA2 houses which, he said, would go a long way in making education accessible to all and provide a conducive working environment for kgosi and his staff.
The minister thanked all relevant stakeholders, saying the success of the ESP projects went along with the exceptional team work displayed by Kgalagadi District Council.
He urged them to continue with the spirit of good work ethics in the journey to develop the country ENDS
